Cloud IX service update

The Information Exchange (IX) service allows our customers to securely transfer files across the gas industry through a virtual gateway.

Alongside our physical IX connection, we’re introducing a Cloud IX service, which will provide customers with:

• encrypted file transfers – both our secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) and Cloud secure software ensure compliance with GDPR standards
  
  
• no datacentre requirements – no need for a physical datacentre as it’s entirely hosted in the Cloud
  
  
• disaster recovery processes – our customers get a full backup of their data in the Cloud

Migrating customers from the physical – to the new – Cloud IX service

We’re now migrating customers who have opted in, onto the new Cloud IX service.

In these cases, the physical IX and Cloud IX services will run in parallel with each other to ensure there’s no impact on file processing times.

We'll continue to provide support throughout the migration and after. Our customer feedback so far is showing that the migration onto Cloud IX is a simple and easy process. 

Looking ahead to the Cloud IX service rollout

Our team is discussing transfers with customers and capturing their needs and requirements, based on their own respective architectures.

We’ll soon be introducing ‘Cloud IX online briefing sessions’
